Gov. Shetimma and Four Other Northern Governors Sent Toward The South-East By Buhari To negotiate Peace


A group of five Northern governors headed by the Borno state Senator, Kashim Shettimma has been sent toward the South-East by President Muhammadu Buhari to negotiate peace in the area following the current conflict between the secessionist gathering, the Indigenous Individuals of Biafra, IPOB, and the Nigerian armed force in Abia state.

Others in the group are Aminu Masari (Katsina), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) and Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano).

The conflict which saw shocking pictures and video clasps of IPOB individuals supposedly murdered in Abia and also a few fighters maintaining wounds prompted the banishment of IPOB by the South-east governors and the order of the gathering as a fear based oppressor association by the Nigerian armed force.

In any case, the Senate Leader of Nigeria, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has said that the ban of IPOB and its arrangement as a fear monger association by the Nigerian armed force is illicit.

Saraki gave the announcement on Monday where he said due process was not followed in naming the gathering a fear monger association and additionally in restricting it.
